Twitter Offers Tips to Make Father’s Day Really Tweet

Twitter really wants your business to make Father’s Day great.

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 18 (in the United States), it is a great time for businesses to make the most of this “holiday” to find shoppers looking for great gifts for dear old dad.

Hoping to help businesses capitalize on the momentum Facebook had with Mother’s Day (Mother’s Day 2017 “drove more posts in a single day than any other topic on Facebook in the last year.”)

Twitter has provided some tips and tricks related to Hashtags and Keywords, so you can make the most of your Social Campaign and make Father’s Day great for your business, as well as Dads across the country.

HASHTAGS

There are usually hashtags most commonly used to promote an event.  I.E. #fathersday2017, #fathersday, #happyfathersday, #mydadmyhero, etc.

However, Twitter recommends you also keep an eye out for trending hashtags.  Watch to see what hashtags are being used most and start using those.  Scan the trends section, watch for dad-related Tweets, keep an eye on your competitors.

KEYWORDS

Last year, Twitter had 37.8 million Tweets related to Fathers’ Day.  The most common Tweets related to Father’s Day in the past included Tweets about barbeques, family stories, gifts, eating out, and other related themes.  Using these popular topics can boost your businesses visibility.

Your business can take it even further by featuring your Tweet in an Ad Campaign or use keyword targeting.  This allows Twitter users the ease of finding your business when they are searching keywords and phrases on Twitter.

“A retail brand could reach people looking for Father’s Day gifts by targeting keywords and phrases such as ‘gifts for dad,’ ‘need a Father’s Day present,’ or ‘buy dad a gift.’” (Business.Twitter.com)

Finally, Twitter offers the advice, “while it’s important to incorporate popular topics into your content strategy, focus on creating content that’s relevant to your target audience and authentic to your brand.”
